Shameless promotion - because it has helped me SO MUCH. Book called "My Child Won't Eat" by Carlos Gonzalez MD.

Just in case anyone's reached the end of their patience...x

Ditto to that! Fabulous book written by a rather good paed with a very sexy spanish accent (which always helps I find )

hi can anybody help me at the end of my tether, i have a 11mth old boy who spits out all dinners that i give him. im wondering if its to do with the lumps in the food but dont want to make his food to smooth because of his language development.

WitchTwoOh · 28/10/2007 19:33

how is he if you just let him feed himself? can he manage bits of bread etc, or does he spit them out too?

LOUTWO - my DD 11.5months hardly eats solids, I have read the book, tempted to try and get in Spanish as I think he may sound even sexier! It hasn't stopped me worrying so much. Would also recommend Tania Byron's new book "your baby, your way". Has transformed meal times for us, although DD still doesn't eat much. I always allowed her to create mess now its on a different league though, we are playing with the food. Also I moved her from the highchair to a booster seat at the table. Is you son BF? As according to Gonzalez though take longer to take to solids. I have started to cut down BFs, partly to see if it makes a difference but also to start the weaning process. I feel for you, its so hard.

Thanks for answering people he is the same with
fingerfoods i think its for attention i try
to remain calm and look away but it really winds me up, prob just a phase!

WitchTwoOh · 29/10/2007 23:33

if he's getting plenty of milk then there's a case to be made for whacking a multivit of some description into him and then Not Worrying About It and not giving him the attention. personally, i think letting him feed himself might be good cos you can ignore him more efficiently if you're not loading up a spoon.

Thanks i will give it a go
