Slow cooker size advice

Hi.
I have decided to get a slow cooker but cant decide on which size. I have a family of 4.
The 3.5l seems a bit small, but the 6.5l seems huge. Am i kidding myself in thinking the 3.5l might be ok for a starter slow cooker and i could upgrade if needed for leftovers etc.
I have pretty much decided on morphy richards sear and stew as i don't have a dishwasher so will save on washing pans.
I think i will mainly be using it for small meat joints at the weekend.
What sizes does everyone else use?

We’re a family of five and the 3.5l is fine very nearly all the time. There’s the odd occasion it’s very full and I have to poke stuff around, but that’s all.

We had the sear and stew one, and it kept tripping our electrics. It may have been faulty, but we've not had a problem since going back to a ceramic one. FWIW, i rarely precook meet before it goes in the slow cooker, and I think it tastes nicer for it. 3.5l one is plenty for a family of 3, so should be a good size for you.

And we use the slow liner bags to save on washing up.

Brilliant. I was hoping the 3.5l would be enough 😊

Deffo use the liners, they're brilliant, but not in the sear&stew.

Georgyporky what issues have you had with the sear and stew?
