Roast potatoes without parboiling

I was watching John & Lisa's kitchen yesterday and they were doing a tray bake Christmas Dinner.

I always par boil my potatoes/veg but they didn't and just put all the veg in to roast for an hour.
I'm tempted to give it a go to save on pot washing...has anyone tried this?
Does the veg all cook through and not burn on the outside?

King Edwards give the fluffiest middle but you have to be careful not to par boil for too long.

Agree with leaving them under a tea towel too to absorb the steam after par boiling.

I’ve never parboiled and my roast potatoes are lovely. It’s more to do with the variety of potato, the oil or fat you use and the temperature of the oven. Rinsing and drying after cutting also helps. However lots of people now seem to keep potatoes in the fridge and try to cook from chilled, which isn’t a good idea. (I keep mine in a cold cupboard and in winter always bring them in to the kitchen a couple of hours before cooking.)
