I need to start eating more healthily, so I'm going to clean out my fridge but what do I stock up with. There I me my OH and 20 Yr DD, who is in and out of the house. We own a grocers, so don't really do supermarket shopping, I tend to shop daily for tea and usually end up with short dated stock or the fruit and veg that's just on the turn. Therefore never really have beautiful fruit and veg stocked in fridge. And when I do DD ends up at boyfriends and it goes to waste. So what can I stock my fridge up with that is healthy but that keeps well.

Why does it have to be the fridge? I keep mixed unsalted nuts in the house...things that keep well don't usually tend to be that healthy to be honest...aside from nuts!

I hard boil eggs from our chickens and put those in the fridge...we usually have crackers and cheese...cheese keeps well.

Sometimes I buy hummus and we have that with crackers or celery or carrots.

Apples are good.

It doesn't really just find it hard to have healthy snacks in general, especially DD who ends up coming home from work and grabbing crisps and chocolates as not much in or I might buy Houmous , she eats half one night but next time she wants its out of date. DH will just snack on pork pies, so that's not helpful.

Have you tried baked chickpeas? Don’t need to go in the fridge but very tasty and fairly healthy.
Home popped popcorn
Rice cakes with cream cheese and cucumber

I've had chick peas in bombay mix but never on there own, do you bake them yourself or buy them. I don't mind popcorn, but I wouldn't say it's my favourite. I'm more a twiglets kind of person.

Yes I bake them myself. I use canned chickpeas, rinse and dry them, spread on a baking tray and spray lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt (I have a pump bottle that I fill myself, but I think you can buy them too) bake for about 40 mins until crisp. You can add various seasonings I like paprika, garlic or balsamic vinegar

You can buy mini snack-sized tubs of humous and mini tubs of Philadelphia, which keep at least a couple of weeks unopened www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/255721257
Yogurts last a couple of weeks at least and you can freeze individual pots to make them last longer.
