I'm just about to renew my subscription to Good Food but wonder if either of the others are any good for a change. What does everyone think?

I like Delicious myself...

Smithy · 22/10/2007 14:36

I like easycook as it has lots of recipes for the kids and also a "storecupboard section" which uses up the bits I normally have stashed away in the kitchen. Also some of the baking recipes are easy enough for the kids to attempt (mixed results though!)

CappuScreamO · 22/10/2007 14:37

another vote for delicious

good food got a bit boring imo

milkmoustache · 22/10/2007 14:47

Delicious. Much less frumpy than Good Food.

jezzemx · 22/10/2007 14:50

don't bother with either, save some money and check out their websites. good food one is brill for recipes and you can store them in your electronic file.

mouthymum · 23/10/2007 22:08

Donna Hay magazine, if you can get to a Borders bookshop, brilliant magazine section.

MuffinMclay · 24/10/2007 13:44

Good Food is a bit boring IMO (and downright odd with some of its recipes - fishpie with cornflake topping springs to mind).

Olive is the best read but more for restaurant reviews, travel articles, and general food pron than recipes.

Delicious isn't quite such a good read, but is more recipe-based.

We try a few recipes from Olive and Delicious each month (and the free seasonal recipe thing you get in Waitrose).

MuffinMclay · 24/10/2007 13:44

porn, not pron

Bewilderbeast · 24/10/2007 13:55

Good Food, the others have really crappy recipes IMHO

bigknickersbigknockers · 24/10/2007 14:04

easy cook is fab. I have been getting good food mag since 1995 and have now changed to easycook because the recipes are more suitable for every day use where as IMO good food recipes were a bit too fancy and involved too much faffing about.

McDreamy · 26/10/2007 15:29

The problem I've got is that Ican't get to Borders etc as I'm in Cyprus. The imported mags are soooo expensive (over 5 pounds for Good Food) so a subscription is the best way. Not all companies send to BFPO addresses but the BBC do......thanks for all your answers though I think I am going to give Easy Cook a go.

i love good food! i like the variety - each issue has a selection of simple weeknight suppers, seasonal recipes, cooking for kids and more complex, foodie recipes. there's always something i want to cook - although don't always have time. i have a delicious (or is it olive?) recipe book and it is all a bit restauranty dinner partyish iyswim. imho of course.

sunflowervalley · 26/10/2007 15:51

I normally get Good food each month.Find it good for quick and easy recipes.

They were doing an offer for a free copy of Nigella's express cookery book when you subscribe.

sunflowervalley · 26/10/2007 15:52

Meant to say will see If I can find when it ran out and the code if you like.

McDreamy · 26/10/2007 17:55

ooh yes please sunflower, have been thinking again, as I do a fair bit of entertaining I am wondering if Good Food might be better than Easy Cooking.........you'd think this was a life chaging descision the effort I'm putting into it!!!!

I get delicious magazine on subscription and really enjoy it - usefull too.

hannahsaunt · 26/10/2007 18:16

Another vote for Delicious here but good to ring the changes every so often.

LOOBYLOU2 · 26/10/2007 18:18

I've had Good Food for about 3 years now (courtesy of MIL) and I've asked her to change it to Olive for next year - I like the features as well as the recipes.
My favourite bit in Good Food has become the celeb kitchens ........ v sad!

sunflowervalley · 26/10/2007 21:44
