Setting up a kitchen

Hello,

I am a single Mum and have just moved into a new house that I bought with my 4 year old.

I am only wanting to buy good quality kitchen items that will last me forever.

I have my eye on Le Creuset but it's overwhelming...

I like to cook healthy stir fries, healthy versions of curry recipes, good fish and salmon with steamed veggies and Italian pastas for my little boy. I usually cook stew type things in the slower cooker but open to dutch oven !

Looking at the wok, 30cm skillet, non stick fry pan and the grill but not sure if grill with handle or the tray type one ? Also an enamel baker for zucchini slices, lasagne etc.

What would you recommend ?

Also while I'm on here, what are your good quality kitchen essentials ?

It's my new year goal to be more of a grownup, organised, meal plan, get myself domesticated !

Congratulations on the house and the independence!!!

I would say spend as much as you can on the wok as mine is in constant use.

What about a good blender and a slow cooker. The Tefal blend force is very good and reasonable and I use it all the time.

Slow cooker you can buy for £15 they are much the same but if you will eat stew etc they are very Labour saving.

If you are batch cooking then good quality plastic or glass containers that fit easily in the freezer.

I have the most amazing glass dishes, they have a sealable plastic lid. Can be frozen, dishwashered, microwaved and go in the oven with the lid off. They were £4 each from home bargains. I swear by them for everything.

I use Pyrex glass baking dishes instead of nonstick. They last forever and don't get rusty
Also Pyrex glass storage boxes
I hated my nutribullet so got a good blender by kenwood
Also a kmix if u like baking

@QforCucumber that's what I meant - they also sell them in IKEA I really want them!

TK Maxx always have Le Crueset stuff heavily discounted! Some of mine are 10 years plus and still look brand new.
