Hi I would like to know of any nice 0 alcohol 'alcoholic' drinks for weekend. That taste nice and maybe a bit like alcohol but not schloer or cola etc.

When I was pregnant I enjoyed the odd alcohol free Prosecco (the M&S one was best, think it’s called Fizzero) in winter and alcohol free cider in summer. I find sometimes just putting a non alcoholic drink in a wine glass with ice and fruit and stuff helps!

Cans of Seedlip spice 94 and grapefruit tonic
Sea Arch Drinks - Sea and Tonic - Coastal Juniper or Rose and Raspberry
Punchy soft punches - my favourite is peach, ginger and chai

Glad I found this thread as I'm trying to avoid drinking.

I have soda and lime with ice and a straw in a nice glass to pretend it's gin. £26 for alcohol-free gin shocked me!

I saw an alcohol free mulled wine type drink in Lidl the other day but haven't opened it yet.

Apple juice, ginger beer with some apple slices makes quite a nice mocktail.

albairlanda · 01/12/2020 12:38

Thanks everyone. I'm going to have to pretend at Christmas that I'm drinking or relatives will be suss. I don't want to tell anyone till much later as I'm 38 so a bit cautious. For this reason I think fake G and T drinks and also fizzero will be good tricks to have. Any good low alcohol red/white wine recs?

Hi Hardys do an alcohol free Chardonnay which is lovely, Lindemans do a Shiraz that is very average, but then their alcoholic wine is also very average so no surprises there!

Bilingualspingual · 01/12/2020 12:49

Have a look at drydrinker.com. I stopped drinking last year and use it all the time. I don’t rate no alcohol wines that much but cider usually delicious (and I was never much of a cider drinker). They also do great spirit copies, even amaretto I think. Flowers

I love the Lime and Mint cordial by Robinsons, nice when it's not too strong and served with ice and sparkling water. It's good because it feels G&T-esque but without trying to be a fake copy, if that makes sense. You could add fresh mint and lime slices and a paper straw to make.it more 'exciting' Grin

M&S do a non alcoholic gin and tonic. I it in a gin glass with ice and lemon.

OhioOhioOhio · 02/12/2020 21:08

Just tonic water does the trick.

JazzTheDog · 02/12/2020 21:10

If you like cider the Kopparberg fruit ciders come in an alcohol free version that taste lovely.

albairlanda · 02/12/2020 22:44

Thanks I'm loving these ideas. Forgot cider and fevertree do some gorge tonics

Lidl do a nice fake pink gin called Cero Cero, it's £10.

jcurve · 07/12/2020 18:02

Soda water, lime cordial & a splash of Angostura bitters - looks (and tastes) like a fancy cocktail. Angostura bitters does contain alcohol but you’re literally using a dash, there’s more alcohol in some fruit, so it’s considered a non-alcoholic drink.

I can’t get on with alcohol free ciders as they’re so sweet, but Remedy kombucha in apple crisp is a good approximation of proper cider.

albairlanda · 07/12/2020 18:44

@jcurve Ooo where can I find this Remedy thing? I like the fevertree tonic which has the angostura bitters in. Update from weekend of trying. Morrisons nosecco... Friday night like apple juice, Saturday slightly more palatable as a fake Prosecco. Heineken zero - bloody delicious. Had a glass of the Eisberg zero cab sab last night and it's actually not too bad.

Holland and Barratt have an alcohol free advent calendar with full sized drinks which I've treated myself to!

jcurve · 07/12/2020 18:59

Holland & Barrett sell Remedy and you can also get it on Amazon I think.

albairlanda · 07/12/2020 20:18

I never thought of H and B for alcohol free. I'll def pay it a visit. Smile

I got through my first event whilst PG by pretending that we'd had a big night and I never wanted to see another drink again.

I don't know what it says about me and my family but everyone seemed happy to believe that I'd been outrageously drunk rather than assume I might be PG Smile

OhioOhioOhio · 07/12/2020 20:41

There is a blue beer that's nice.

stickygotstuck · 07/12/2020 20:42

Mr Fitzpatrick cordials with ice cold sparkling water. Love the rhubarb abd pomegranate ones!

albairlanda · 07/12/2020 21:44

@JiltedJohnsJulie my dad is so straight laced that would go down like a lead balloon. Lol. I do plan to use this excuse of Christmas drinks end up happening at any stage with friends. Currently tier 3 so that won't happen.

I'm loving these suggestions still coming in.

I like the Gordon's alcohol free g&t with a hint of grapefruit. Also in the summer got through probably gallons of the Torres Natureo rosé, though I didn't really like the white or the red. Not found an alcohol free red I like really. Becks blue beer OK but I prefer Free-Damm.
Loved the Robinsons mint and lime squash because with loads of ice and garnishes I could fool myself it was actually a mojito. My Tesco stopped selling it though Angry

JiltedJohnsJulie · 07/12/2020 22:26

I like the Gordon's alcohol free g&t with a hint of grapefruit. that sounds lovely Smile

Zero alcohol Erdinger is pretty nice. I like lime and soda. Most non-alcoholic alternatives are too sweet though.
