Liquid chicken stock

Lotty32 · 21/11/2020 16:29

Knorr used to make a wonderful liquid stock in a bottle (also beef). Can't find it anywhere. Really useful to add a little to a sauce etc for extra flavour.

Any alternatives please? Thx

Dh uses those little blobby knorr stock pot things. They're like jelly and you add to water to make into stock.

Kallo chicken stock cubes. Beef ones are also nice.

If you want to have a go at making stock yourself then you can boil up roast chicken carcass.

I bought chicken wings today, going to roast them and put overnight in slow cooker with bay leaf and some veg.

Thx I know these tips but sometimes I just mood a quick chest! The jelly blobs are fab but they are big - not just a drop!

Some stores may still sell them so worth shopping around - I get the stock pots when I am cooking a meal but like the bottles when I just want a dash or something. ScandiKitchen and TotallySwedish still sell them so hoping you might be able to grab them in more mainstream shops too. Or just stock up on your mulled wine and pickled herring at the same time 😂

The knorr ones seem to be out of stock everywhere

I wonder if there is a nationwide shortage of chicken stock? I used to get a jar of thick chicken stock from M and S - it was great - just a spoonful into a pot of soup for lovely flavour and no plastic waste. Nice ingredients too. It's no longer availableSad
