flatmouse I'm quite new to this so not much advise really. Most Rayburns will have two ovens ... a hot one and a cooler one. The cooler one will either be just a warmer (1/3 the heat of the hot one) or a simmerer (1/2 the heat). The top will have a long top plate with graduated heat so hotter one end than the other and should be able to fit 3-4 pans.

With veg you bring up to boil on hot plate then finish in the oven. You can buy stange sheet things which you put straight onto the hot plate then can fry things on. Even eggs The sheets can thewn go in the dishwasher.

Have a look on the Aga website. It has Rayburns too. I could spend hours on there. It's so tempting.

Have a good holiday and let me know how you get on with the Rayburn.

Thanks - am quite looking forward to the challenge - so long as it doesn't take hours to boil up some pasta!

It shouldn't flatmouse. It supposed to be able to boil a kettle faster than an electric kettle. Unless I'm just swallowing the sales pitch that is.
