pooka · 15/10/2007 10:08

Couldn't you do cornflake/rice crispie cakes in a cake tin rather than in paper cases?

MegaLegs · 15/10/2007 10:08

If the eggs are fresh enough, chocolate mousse.

dooley1 · 15/10/2007 10:12

I would eat the chocolate only it's cooking chocolate and tastes horrid (I tried it!!) and i really want to use up the eggs! I'm so rubbish at baking. will check out the Nigella recipe and google chocolate mousse

Yes - my (well Ok the Hermitage plantation's) chocolate bomb. It really is amazing. you can easily halve the quantities and still serve 8 slices

Hermitage Chocolate Bombe

24 oz semi sweet dark chocolate (it has to be 70% chocolate)
8 eggs
16 oz granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
250g salted English butter

Melt chocolate in double boiler.

In food processor, mix butter, sugar and vanilla then add melted chocolate. While processor is still running add eggs one at a time until it is blended and smooth. Grease a large glass bowl or two medium glass bowls. Pour in chocolate mixture. Place bowls in a baking pan wiht water that reaches the bowls about half way and bake in the oven at 180 for about an hour, or until you see the top sides of the bombe leave the bowl. It should be firm. Take out of oven and cool- for a long time, preferably overnight, or at least 5 hours in the fridge

Turn out onto a plate, place the plate on top of the bowl and turn over.

Yay - she chose mine, she chose mine. Did you eat them all?

I saw that choc sauce recipe and thought maybe it was going just a bit too far
