Hi there, I’m an average baker.. Please can anyone share a cake recipe that involves profiteroles in some way. My husband loves them! Thank you.

Buy some and put them on top of a cake?

Paris Brest, Crocembouche, Gateau St Honore, Religieuse

all packed full of little fat choux buns.

Personally I prefer to make GIANT choux buns and fill them with coffee cream like a Fisher and Donald Coffee Tower...I am aware this will mean nothing to anyone outside of the NE of Scotland, but really you haven;t lived until you have had a F&D Coffee Tower and a Fudge Doughnut.

Thanks! those recipes look amazing, but I think out of my league...I think I need something in between popping some on top of a cake and making them from scratch!

Someone posted this link on another thread today. I'm going to give it a try!

I’m not trying to be difficult, but what do you think will be available between making them yourself and buying them? I make Choi’s pastry, I even did a croquembouche for a friend’s wedding. Choux isn’t easy and is rather time consuming. If you’re not experienced or confident you’d be better off buying

Thanks for the recipe @lonelyplanet.

I didn't mean something in between making the actual profiteroles and buying them @HermioneWeasley. I meant a cake that possibly uses bought profiteroles but not just plonking them on top? Maybe they can be used in the middle - or something - like in between two sponges? I don't know! just guessing - as I said, I'm an average baker!

Found a recipe you might like that uses bought profiteroles and just a couple of other ingredients - see
what you think

That looks amazing. Thank you. Hope it’s as good as it looks!

Patisserie Valerie before they closed used to do a chocolate gateaux with profiteroles on top then drizzled with white and milk chocolate.

I miss it!

I would be up for making a gateaux but think the profiteroles would be bought in and added on top.
