Christmas pudding alternatives

Sorry I know this has been done already but can't find the thread and also I want to be a bit more specific.
We need an alternative to Christmas pudding for someone who doesn't like dried fruit. In the past I've done sticky toffee pudding (I know it contains dried fruit but you can't tell and they do like it!); poached pears & rice pudding ; lemon pudding; chocolate pudding. Would like to do something different but is a 'pudding' pudding rather than a dessert (ie not trifle. Pavlova, profiteroles etc. as they will be served at other times over Christmas).
Thank you!

We had this date steamed pudding last year, which went down well.

That sounds lovely thanks @karmakameleon , exactly the sort of thing I was looking for.
Sounds a bit like a sticky toffee pudding but I guess the suet makes it a different texture?

My family requested steamed syrup pudding. Everyone likes it and I serve it with rhubarb or raspberries or something else with cream, custard or ice cream.

Oh now that takes me back to my childhood and is making me drool @TheSandgroper !

I thought it would be like sticky toffee pudding but it’s much lighter and quite different, although there is definitely a resemblance. Maybe a second cousin.

Oh yes, bread and butter pudding made with panettone instead of bread is gorgeous. We have it at some point over the holidays every year and everyone loves it.

Ooh lovely. At this rate I'll be scrapping the turkey and just having puddings!
