Tell me this is just a phase!

DS (10mths) was never a real omnivore, but in the last week has become more and more difficult to feed. Refuses all savoury mixtures but is happy to munch on bread, rice cakes and fruit. And is always happy to take Weetabix, banana, yoghurt, fromage frais etc. I thought it was teeth, but the top ones have come through and the fussiness continues. He just waves his arms in the air, laughs and spits out the food! And if there is more than one piece of bread in front of him, he drops it on the floor and waits for me to pick it up. Very funny but infuriating as well. I'm still BF him at least 3-4 times a day, but reluctant to drop the middle of the day feeds while he is eating so badly. When I am not there he doesn't drink much, but still doesn't eat either. I hope this is just a phase but not sure how long I should let it go on without restricting milk/sweet things. Any ideas??

mine - at 9 months - is the same. Bread is the passion and maybe some apple. Eats twice the amount when he can feed himself so I have added noodles (which he loves) coated in veg/cheese, whatever. He sucks them up and seems to fill up.(very very messy) He also eats more if I take the food off my plate and give it to him on a big spoon. About the only way he will let me feed him now. And he eats more and less fussily if he is not tired. As he is currently sleeping 35-45 minutes a day this is now rare. He will eat vegatables on the conditon that is when he wants (every other day) and that they are big enough to feed himself. But I am now begining to trust that he gets what he needs and that it does all balance out. And that me getting in a state made no difference anyway. Also, i was BF same as you and then cut out any between 10.00 am and 7.00pm (which had always been my plan;he still did not really eat for two days (this was in a phase when he stopped eating any solids for a week) and then really tucked in. He did have formula though. I sympathise but if you want to cut down the feeds you should. He will work it out and get what he needs.
