Urgent! Something ultra-quick, simple and chocolatey I can make this afternoon with 2 toddlers ...

I have to make a chocolate cake which they're not going to be allowed to eat, so to keep the peace I thought I'd make something chocolatey with them but it'll be kind of alongside my baking so has to be simplicity itself ...

I have no rice crispies or cornflakes!

Do you have any digestive biscuits? If so you could get them to help you crush up the biscuits instead of using rice krispies/cornflakes

helpmaboab · 08/10/2007 13:36

What about something tiffin-like? Crushed biscuits, raisins and whatever other dried fruit you have. Mix together with melted chocolate, spread in a roasting tin and set in the fridge.

have you any marshmallows and smarties?

dip marshmallows in choc, put in cake cases and stick smartie on top with dollop of choc, put in fridge to set. yum.

Was looking for another recipe but found this, sounds good and easy:

By robinpud on Mon 18-Jun-07 10:45:07
smartie cookies
100g butter
110g light muscovado sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup
150g SR flour
tube of smarties
Cream butter and sugar until light.
Stir in syrup.
Add flour and mix well.
Place about 16 little balls on well greased trays and put a couple of smarties on each one.
Bake 160 fan oven/180 gas 4 for about 12 minis until just golden around edge. cool on wire rack.

Yummy- can miss out smarties and put nuts choc chips etc but smarties prove very very popular!

crushed choc chip cookies, handful of mini marshmallows, small handful of raisins, a bit (couple of ozs) of melted butter, mix together. press into small roasting tin. Leave to set. Heaven.

idea - why don't you tell us what you have got?

have you got any plastic cookie cutters? Use them as templates, so just pour the choc into them and set them in the fridge?

GreatHauntieWurly · 08/10/2007 13:44

i made these earlier

yummy and easy

ChippyMinton · 08/10/2007 13:47

They are the ones I was searching for when i found the smarties recipe. Thank you!

Beelzebug · 08/10/2007 13:48

Wurly, I'm so going NOW to make some of them, although I have no cocoa so will use extra qty of choc milkshake powder!

franch · 08/10/2007 14:12

Well I can't really list the entire contents of my kitchen ...

I do however have chocolate and cocoa ..... AND bananas AND all the ingredients for the recipe wurly's linked to ... I think the latter wins - MANY THANKS ALL!!!
