From the point of view of chocking on crunchy bits or potential of peanut allergy?
My dd's been having smooth peanut butter since 10 months old and she loves it. Luckily no signs of allergy but I watched her closely after she tried it for the first time just in case.
HTH

I feel 3 is fine as long as you spread it not too thick. I know most daycares here in the USA give peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to 1 year olds and up and they never think anything of it. Your dd should be just fine.

trudles, agree that you have to be careful about nut allergies etc, but if it's any help, I gave ds peanut butter at quite a young age (2 I think IIRC but could be wrong, might have been 3) since I took the view that it was quite good for him. I was watching for any reaction but there was none. So although the advice is generally not til 5 I did it earlier with no ill effects. As robinw says, take it slowly to start with. HTH.

If there's no history of food allergies in you or your partner's family, then go for it. My dd has had it from 9 months without problems.
