School are only providing sandwiches for lunch until November. We have decided to do our own packed lunches.
I have just bought food flasks, so they could be used for hot lunches.
Ideas so far include:
Soup
Chilli
Tuna pasta bake
Pasta bolognese
Stew

Please can you suggest other things that we can make for packed lunches. Thanks.

I’ve used my food flask successfully for:
Risotto
Tagine in the flask and a pitta bread taken separately
Falafel/lamb koftas in the flask, and a wrap or pitta bread taken separately.
Chilli with a separate bag of Doritos
Curry with a separate naan bread or a packet of mini popadums to dip in it
Homemade pot noodle
Pulled pork in the food flask, and a tortilla or soft rolls taken separately

Other things to make for a lunchbox:

In the flask we sometimes have fish fingers or beans and toast/bread separately.

Other cold items are pizza (HM or shop bought), crackers and cheese, savoury muffins, wraps/sandwich. We also often do lots of little things like mini pork pie, cheese, salad, chicken etc

Remembered one more, little pancakes/drop scones

My step daughter used to have one of these flasks when she was in primary, during the winter. I was instructed to put a tin of soup in or a tin of beans and sausages if I had nothing else, but I would put shepherd's pie or corned beef hash or curry and even pasta bolognese.

I have ben using a flask for my DD for all her education: the food at her school was not very good and she was on unhealthy snack all the time.
Generally, pasta does not agree with a flask and it ends up all broken up ( mind you: it.may be the way your child likes it!).
I have a Chinese friend who introduced me to flasks and sent me one from China and it does stay hot for long...unlike the red Thermos one which is definitely of lower quality. My friend does porridge with it - simply mixing hot water and oats ...the flask does all the rest.
I have used it very successfully with soups ( obviously)- nothing beats a soup and a savory muffin in winter.
Also, anything with mashed potatoes will go and it is great for fish pie, shepherds pie, meatballs and rice. Also a warm quinoa salad is good (in case of gluten allergies).I batch freeze rice and mashed potatoes to have them handy in the morning.
Also, I had good success with roasted potatoes bit it is then difficult to stuff the flask - the

The more in it, the warmer.....
