What do you cook when you can't be bothered to cook?

I need a few easy dinners ideas with little or no preparation. I am so fed up with meal planning, shopping for meals, cooking meals, cleaning up after meals....I cook almost every night and would just love a few freezer/cupboard/packet things to make life easier some nights.

Am thinking of having the freezer stocked up with mash and other variants of potato. Jacket potatoes are mindless enough to make and also very cheap, so they're on my list too.

What do you cook when you can't be bothered to cook?

Definitely going to try the salmon fennel recipe.

because I don't let anyone tell me how to cook, not even Nigel. adapting a recipe to suit your own tastes is very Nigel.

Spag Bol with jar sauce is my cbarsed meal.

Or a curry/sweet and sour with jar sauce and no fresh veg added so I only have to do the chicken and rice.

They’re what I’d class as crap dinners.

Even with pizza I do a massive salad/feta/pickles so lots of chopping and prepping, and with chips I normally make my own so still got to chop potatoes, season etc.

Something batch cooked from the freezer
'Oven' which means quorn nuggets and chips or similar
Eggs on toast
Cheese on toast
Really lazy cheese on toast - toast bread in toaster, bung chunks of cheese in microwave until melted and scrape onto toast.

Cheese omelette. Takes 5 mins.
Cheese toasties and a can of soup.
Beans on toast. With cheese.
Scrambled eggs. Yep, on toast.

Always have eggs, baked beans, bread and cheese in stock and you'll never go hungry if you can't be arsed to spend more than 10 mins in the kitchen.

Tonight I had the vegan pasties from Iceland with a jacket potato. It was lovely and minimal prep.

Love an omelette! Especially with chilli, mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach.

Chicken Kiev, frozen chips and veg, sweet and sour chicken out of a jar with microwave rice, frozen pizzas or use a slow cooker, throw stuff in in the morning and it’s ready when you get home 👍🏼

Pasta with frozen veg and ready made meat balls
Boiled potatoes with same
1 pan fried mince or chicken strips, mushrooms, veg, cleaned up with bread or oven chips
rice/pasta & tuna salad
scrambled egg on toast (no it's not just for breakfast) Smile
