fish - its cooks it really nicely, and you can bung all the veg / pots in the ones under it and all gets cooked at the same time!

I make chinese chicken parcels in my steamer. They are delicious and can be eaten either as a starter, or if you have loads, as a main course.

Steamed stuffed chicken with mash and steamed veggies?
Get blue cheese (e.g roqufort), chopped, diced mushrooms, chopped diced shallots, parma ham and a bit of oil. fly shallots, add mushrooms til soft, add cheese and ham so its all melty. Leave to cool.

Chicken breasts with skin. Steam until almost cooked, peel back the skin to make a pocket, so leave a flap. Stuff as much of the stuff mixture you can. Close pocket. wrap in parma ham. Put in hot oven til fully cooked.

Steam veggies/boil potaoes and serve.

I should add. The only problem with the steaming, is you don't get crispy skin on the chicken, so if you didn't want to steam it, you can stuff it raw and cook til cooked, but ime its not as succulent!!

Cut salmon into chunks, and coat in a marinade/sauce of your choice. Cut up peppers and onions, and slide onto a kebab stick, either side of the salmon chunks. Steam for 10-12 minutes and finito! They are lovely, and very quick, easy and healthy!

I use mine mainly for veggies but they are also great for steaming puddingy things like a really moist sponge. I do flour, sugar, soymilk, cornflour and vanilla sometimes with berries in it. Steam for a couple of hours (covered) and it just cooks away whilst you eat your main (steamed veggies!)
Good if you makes tamales (a mix of ingredients with mexican spices folded in a corn tortilla and then a corn husk then steamed for 30-40 mins.
And chinese parcel made with rice noodles steam well as they are so delicate.
