Storing peaches

Hi
I have some flat peaches in my fridge that are a few days over best before
One looks soft others fine so i planned to eat them and soft one in food waste
My friend has said i shouldnt as i have. Kept them in the original plastic bag/packaging unopened, which looks airtight so a risk of botulism ??
i also keep my apples in the bag on the counter sometimes if we have some old ones left so they get eaten first ( apples do say fridge but no room )
Is she right , does anyone know
Ideally i do try and remove from packaging but was in a hurry

I've never heard of Botulinum being a problem with fresh peaches that are a bit past it.

If the fruit is intact and not bruised then slice the peaches and freeze the pieces individually on a tray. Once frozen put the slices in a heavy zip top bag and freeze that. If you have a FoodSaver or other vacuum sealer use it and the frozen peaches will keep even longer.

When thawed they'll be soft but they'll still taste good.
