What flavour is it? If mushroom, you could add boiling milk - makes it more creamy IYKWIM

It usually needs to be soaked overnight, then added to lots of water or stock. Add loads of chopped vegetables. Anything will do, but my preference would be onion, carrots and potatoes. Simmer gently for a couple of hours (should confirm on packet how long as a minimum). Best eaten the day after cooking. My mum used to use these, I'm assuming it contains pearl barley, split peas etc. We always called it yukk! soup, but I secretly loved it.

Soup mix is basis for old-fashioned Irish home-made soup. Soak for a couple of hours in cold water, drain then add to stock with chopped carrots, leeks, parsley. Bring to boil then simmer for around an hour until carrots tender. You can also add chicken and potato to bulk it out to make it more filling.
