Do I use it anyway (bread for 6, 4 and 2 year olds) or can I leave it out?

I don't think it can go off in the sense of making anyone ill. But it might not work maybe. It'll probably be OK though.

Use it, defo. My bicarb is from 2004 and still works!

expatinscotland · 20/09/2007 16:53

use it, it'll be fine

bluejelly · 20/09/2007 16:54

Agree with expat, mine is 2006

EmilyDavidson · 20/09/2007 16:57

Dont leave it out ,it is necessary. If its a bit old it can lose some of its 'power' so just use a little bit extra

Jennster · 20/09/2007 17:05

Mine's 2 years out of date and fine!

Tommy · 20/09/2007 17:13

only July?

deffo use it, then come back here and give us the recipe

NAB3 · 20/09/2007 17:17

Thanks all.

Just checked and it is best before, not use by so I will definitely use it. I wonder how many tubs of it I have thrown out as I rarely use it but are a slave to use by dates.

My mum had some bicarb that cost 2d which she was still using until quite recently.

We're all still alive

OrmIrian · 20/09/2007 17:21

Judging by the fact that I've seen bottles of mineral water with a use by date, I suspect they aren't always that meaningful.

Done and it turned out fine.
