The famous mumsnet chicken - how long will it survive?

I see a lot of comments about the famous mumsnet chicken that feeds a family of six for a week. But really, how long do you consider it safe to keep cooked chicken?

I bought mine on Monday, from the butcher so no use by date on it. Roasted it Tuesday. Are the carcass and left overs still ok to make broth/soup with? Google suggests not and I’m feeling cross with myself about the waste.

No that's too old

Next time boil it as soon as you roast it and then freeze the stock xx

No

Unless it smells foul I would use the carcass to make stock no issue, you're boiling it for hours which surely would kill any pathogen. Next time freeze though.

I definitely would assuming it looks and smells ok! It's only four days old and is going to be boiled for hours anyway.

We cooked a turkey on Sunday and have finished it today it had no odour or anything and trust me I wouldn’t have taken the chance unless I absolutely certain it was fine
