I've been persuaded to make chutney before the apples from the fruit and veg box go over. I've got all the ingredients, and I've made chutney before (forty years ago) but I'm not sure about the jars.
They are glass, with a plastic seal and metal clasps. How would you suggest that I sterilise them? From what I have seen, I either blow up the microwave or melt the plastic. All suggestions welcome.
