School dinners or packed lunches?

Hi! I'm actually losing sleep over this, so I obviously need some advice!! My DD is a total fuss pot with food. I have honestly tried everything from "hiding" food within food, hidden veggie sauces, cold veggies, hot veggies etc, cooking together, shopping together, food taster plates, you name it. She just eats the same old things and is very stubborn. I continue to try new and varied food with her but it's almost daily that she'll tell me doesn't like something. I don't give in and I never cook to order. We also have a no pudding rule for left over plates of food. Snacks always fresh fruit but she does have treats here and there too.
Anyway, she's starting school in September and their hot lunch menu looks appealing, (and convenient!) but I fear that she will go hungry if she is served things that she won't eat. I'm due to have another baby around the same time so it will be a busy time at home; plus with starting reception and the recent lockdown it's all a big change. Do I just make her packed lunches to be sure that she's got something she'll definitely eat (or is that just enabling her??) I know that when she's at preschool she eats better as she has her friends around her to offer peer encouragement- so my other theory is that she'd eat at school and no doubt enjoy it, but I just hate the thought of her being hungry and unable to concentrate during such a long day of learning.
Any support or advice is welcome! Thank you xx

I would try school meals to start with as she may well eat them if all the other kids are (peer pressure) You could share your concerns with the staff so that they can keep an eye on her and if, after a few days, she isn’t eating much/at all then reassess
