I have made plain ice cream following Jamie Oliver's basic "make custard first and then freeze" ice cream recipe but now would like to move on to adding flavours.

Anyone have a moorish chocolate recipe? ..the more chocolatey, the better!

Or coffee for that matter??!!

Hoping someone comes up with something for you soon so I can copy! I have a lovely ice cream making lying dormant and am addicted to choc ice cream at the mo (liking Green and Blacks esp).

quite happy to make the ice cream by hand though as Ice cream maker makes insufficient quantities...

I do something similar to that Lucewheel but add a slosh of Cointreau - v.v. yummy but only for adults

Also do this one:

30g cocoa powder
100g sugar
125ml condensed milk (use rest of tin for easy vanilla ice-cream!)
375ml milk
1 teasp vanilla extract
250ml whipping cream

  1. Put cocoa, sugar, condensed milk and ordinary milk in bowl over saucepan of simmering water, cook for 30 mins stirring a few times (apparently this is to get rid of 'powderiness' of cocoa??) Cool.
  2. Add vanilla extract and cream and churn/freeze

Anyone got any more nice recipes to share?

Can't get hold of it atm, but Nigella does a really nice one in her book "How to Eat". Its quite a dark grown up one, but it is fab!

All sound yummy. With the Nigella as well as only using really good quality dark choc, over 70%, she also advices making a caramel with sugar and water and keep going till it is a dark brown colour just on the cusp of burnt, this bitter taste makes it really moorish
