Would toddlers eat stir fry?

Am thinking of just frying up some chicken bits with stir fry veg and some noodles, with a bit of honey, lime, soy sauce and sherry. Is this a bit OTT for a toddler? If so can anyone recommend anything stir-fryish that I could make?

my 3 yr old loves it

seeker · 16/09/2007 21:01

Mine would have loved it as toddlers and still would now. Try and see. There's always beans on toast if they don't like it!

winestein · 16/09/2007 21:01

Mine does - but it depends on what yours normally eats.

He likes noodles but finds them a bit tricky - he loves rice and stir fry all stuck together with the sauce.

MrsSpoon · 16/09/2007 21:03

My DS1 would from an early age, DS2 wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Heathcliffscathy · 16/09/2007 21:03

yes. if hungry.

FrayedKnot · 16/09/2007 21:03

DS loves it (3.5), especially the noodles.

Kids should eat what we eat. If you don't try them thry won't get to like it.

Aitch · 16/09/2007 21:04

dd has always loved stir fries, esp the noodles like everyone's said.

notnowbernard · 16/09/2007 21:05

Egg-fried rice also a favourite

My ds has eaten stir fry from around 10 months, so I would say yes.

Pennies · 16/09/2007 21:32

Excellent! Not sure why I thought it might pose a problem now. Thanks.

I make stir fry for my lot all the time 3,21m,and 8m

LyraBelacqua · 16/09/2007 21:34

Mine love stir-fry. DS1 sometimes takes it to school for lunch in his hot food container.

Aitch · 16/09/2007 21:35

i'm not sure i agree about the cutting-up, though. like mawbroon's baby, mine's been eating noodles for ages. i'd say if there's going to be a choke (never has been, but still) then leaving them long means the baby can pull them back out when it goes too far back.

Nemo2007 · 16/09/2007 21:38

must admit I dont cut up, everyone gets it dished up as is..none have ever had a problem.

LyraBelacqua · 16/09/2007 21:40

DS1 once managed to get a noodle stuck in his nose. He was making an awful retching noise and i couldn't figure out what was wrong till I saw the noodle poking out of his nose. One end was hanging out of his nose, the other end down his throat. Had to pull it out very carefully.

Aitch · 16/09/2007 22:21

O M G! very carefully...

mawbroon · 16/09/2007 22:40

I cut the noodles for ds and after hearing that story Lyra, I will continue to do so until he is 25

I give ds rice noodles as he has an egg allergy and they tend to be a bit cliumpier which seems to make it easier for him.

funnypeculiar · 16/09/2007 22:42

Lord Lyra

Dd has been eating noddles (uncut) since about 7 mths...

There's a reason wagamamas is always full of kids

mawbroon · 16/09/2007 22:42

What does cliumpier mean?

Must go to bed.

WriggleJiggle · 16/09/2007 22:43

Noodles + dd = instant happiness. She has had them since being weaned and certainly doesn't like them being cut up - spoils the fun of sucking them up like spaghetti!

Aitch · 16/09/2007 22:47

so true about wagamamas...

EscapeFrom · 16/09/2007 22:49

Both mine adore noodles, and always have done. Ds2 would even eat the veg!

mawbroon · 16/09/2007 22:55

Must be missing something here. What's wagonmamas?

Oh, hang on, that's what google is for.......
