I grew up on porridge being made with just milk and no water. I've been doing this for (also BF) 9 mo DD - bearing in mind I also give her cheese and yoghurt, is this too much cow's milk for her?? How do you make yours up???

Porridge is such a personal thing isn't it, I cannot bear it with milk, all curdy and sour Water here, with raisins, cinnamon and maple syrup.

If its just for me I use half semi-skimmed milk/half water.I find it too creamy with all milk and too bleurgh with just water.

If its for the children I use all milk (full fat).

For me, skimmed milk and a handful of nuts, raisins and seeds. For the boys, milk and raisins or banana.

The amount of milk to your lo doesn't matter, as long as it doesn't replace her daily intake. In other words, you can safely add cow's milk (preferably whole) to her food during the day, and keep on bf!
