Can I make banana ice cream without a blender?

I have 6 very ripe bananas that I won't get through before they're really past it. I used to blend my bananas and freeze it, it was really nice.

However I don't have a blender anymore (or any kind of food machine) can I mash them up, add a but of milk and freeze?

Will it work? I can spend a long time mashing, it's not like I'm busy!

I've got some cream too, was thinking of adding some of that too.

Will it work?

Yeah don’t see why it wouldn’t? Just use a masher or fork. If it’s too lumpy you could sieve it.

@8by8 I grated the banana, then mashed, seems to have worked, I'll find out later Grin

Hope it works, let me know!

When it sets is it very very hard? I sliced and froze a banana once and tried to add it to a smoothie- it broke my new blender :( I then realised that the recipe said to freeze the banana for only one hour.

Would like to try this though, sounds like an easy way to make ice cream 😃

Hi all, yes it worked! I added a little bit of milk and tiny bit of cream. It didn't go rock hard and was very close to ice cream texture (not like ice cream byt similar softness)

I only made it with 2 bananas to try it out but going to make the rest tonorrow Smile

Cool :)

I wouldn't bother with the grating OP, it takes about 5 seconds to mash a banana.
