Lots of beige food and nothing too green.

cleaning247 · 26/01/2020 19:39

Pasta (pesto, spaghetti bol, ham and cheese, butter)

Oven chips and beans or peas (with something on the side they'll refuse to eat)

'Roast' roast potatoes, gravy, peas

Sausages and mash

'Fajitas' wraps, avocado, chorizo, cheese

Pizza

If we are out- fish and chips or cheeseburgers..but not at home.

Once they ate rice. That was exciting.

My son - will eat anything apart from raw fresh tomatoes. His favourites are spag bol, lasagne, curry and rice, stews.

My daughter - will eat any meat, any veg, any carb. But nothing wet Grin so dry spaghetti rather than spag bol. I swear if I brought a squirrel or a snake home she would eat it.

Mine eat quite a good range really, but if I ask them what their favourite is, it will generally be either sausages, pasta and tomato sauce or macaroni cheese.

AiryFairy1 · 26/01/2020 19:53

Chicken casserole and rice (separate bowls)
Pasta and tomato sauce (separate bowls)
Pizza
Spag Bol
Beans “on” toast (beans in separate bowl 🙄)
All with a side of cucumber and red (not yellow, orange or green) pepper, or peas and corn (never on the same day)
Roast chicken dinner
🙄 tea options are a constant source of angst in this house

Protein: Sausages, fish fingers (home made or frozen), meatballs, burgers, gammon, roast chicken, mince, pizza, grated cheese, sour cream, baked beans.
Carb: Jacket potatoes, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato wedges, chips, all those things made from sweet potato, parsnip chips. Rice, pasta, garlic bread, bake at home rolls, wraps, naan.
Veg: Sweetcorn, carrots, cucumber.
I make one or more from each category each night, and DH and I either have the same with more veg or something more interesting.

They like things to be separate if that makes sense. So for example, a chicken casserole would be picked at but if I put chicken thighs, potatoes and veg on a plate that had all been cooked individually they'd eat it.

Quite often I griddle a plain chicken breast and serve with plain pasta or a jacket potato and some broccoli/peas. Unbearably bland imo but they like it, its quick and not processed crap.

Lipperfromchipper · 26/01/2020 20:05

My eat anything really but their faves are

Prawn linguini
Chicken stir fry with noodles or rice.
Roast chicken and ratatouille
Salmon with honey, soy and ginger marinade
Spring chicken (its a nigella dish)
Spaghetti bolognese
Pizza and salad
Omelette and fish fingers

delilahbucket · 26/01/2020 20:11

Anything except courgette and parsnips. His favourites are fajitas (chicken and salmon), tacos, chilli and nachos (Mexican theme going), spaghetti bolognese, carbonara, Thai pork with rice in lettuce cups, loaded fries (we make mini burgers and put with mozzarella, tomatoes, gherkins and burger sauce) and tortilla pizzas. Also, anything with a Caesar salad!

SnugglySnerd · 26/01/2020 20:14

They've just polished off massive helpings of toad in the hole, roast potatoes and parsnips and broccoli. That went down very well.

Favourites are:
"Creamy chicken casserole" this is chicken korma but dd1 wouldn't eat it if she suspected it contained any spices.
Macaroni cheese
Spag bol/lasagne
Pesto pasta with roasted tomatoes and pine nuts
Frittata
Rice in most forms, especially risotto
Fish and chips
Shepherd's pie
"Chilli" again, this must not contain any actual flavour Grin
Jacket potatoes
They love a roast dinner
Ds loves homemade soup. The others don't like it much.
Teriyaki.

cakebythepound1234 · 26/01/2020 20:16

Spaghetti bolognese
Chilli
Shepherds pie
Sausage and mash
Chicken skewers
Pizza
Kiev's
Stir fry noodles
Mild curries
Chicken drumsticks
Roast pork with all the trimmings
Chicken tray bakes
Sushi which is a new development and thrills me!

Veg he'll eat with above: sweet potato, sweet corn, peas, broccoli, asparagus, carrots, peppers (finely chopped), kidney beans, onions. Tomatoes but only if they are of the tinned variety and blended like in a chilli or lasagna.

Would eat chips all day every day if he could!
