New Years resolution

I've decided that my New Years resolution is to cut out sugar as much as possible but I'm finding it extremely hard at the moment. My downfall is snacking as I can't stay away from the occasional chocolate biscuit during work (oops Crown Blush). Can anyone give me any advice on replacements to fill my chocolate craving?

The only thing that really worked for me was going cold turkey on the sweet things and snacking all together I'm afraid. I'm just not very good at the everything in moderation thing at all and trying to make swaps to 'healthy'/homemade/lower calorie snacks didn't do anything for me.I had a period of about 6-8 weeks where I didn't eat any snacks whatsoever between meals, or anything sweet and sugary at all including fizzy drinks and alcohol (had the occasional gin and slim or diet coke but that was it) . I didn't even have fruit - this is what's usually recommended if you go low carb (I didn't go true low carb as still had some wholegrain carb with my evening meal and carby/root veg, but nothing very high in sugar).

The cold turkey period was hell as I do love my treats especially in the evening after dinner but it had to stop as I just couldn't lose weight otherwise and the 'diet'/heathly snack alternatives were either depressing and rubbish, or so delicious that I'd eat huge quantities thus negating the benefits Grin!

After a while I did start to allow myself some sweet things and fruit again but only ever as a pudding after my meals- and I religiously keep to the no snacking rule as once I start I just don't stop. If I feel hungry between meals then I have a drink first (easy to mistake thirst for hunger), then try and distract myself. If after an hour or so and a pint of water/hot drink I still feel genuinely really hungry I bring the next meal forward, but that's quite rare TBH as I eat big enough meals that should be plenty to keep me going, the desire to snack is usually habit/boredom/stress/wanting something tasty!

I cut out sugar not long ago either and did lots of digging as I also love sweet treats! I found a company called Suzero on Instagram who's products I now eat most days! I was sceptical mainly because I've tried loads of 'low sugar' things and they all made my tummy a bit bad which can be quite embarrassing haha, but these are great - www.suzero.co.uk/

I can vouch for the cold turkey period being like hell, I tried to go cold turkey last year but it didn't end well for me so this year i've just tried to supplement my snacks with lower sugar alternatives. I did the same and gave up way too early and started eating more sugar than I did originally Grin. I eat fruit still, I'm just looking to cut down on my 'unnecessary sugar'. I didn't think about drinking more though to bring down the need for snacking so I will definitely give that a go, thanks!

Oooh I've never heard of them, thank you!
