What is in your child's school lunchbox?

Sure there are loads of threads on this but couldn't immmediately find one. Dd1 is only doing half days at school until Half term or January (they decide who starts after half term the day before - great if you are a working mum , but thats another story).

Anyway, she has do a couple of full days in the next couple of weeks - as I was describing her lunchbox to my childminder I suddenly worried that it wasn't enough - what do you put in your childs lunchbox? Today she (nearly 5) had:
a cheese sandwich (brown bread, cheese, a bit of mayo - she hates butter); carrot and cucumber sticks; a flapjack, a nectarine and a drink of water.

Has anyone else's kids' school banned squeezy yoghurts??

Crikey what a lot your children eat!
Mine have a sandwich (ds1 almost always ham, ds2 cheese or honey or peanut butter, etc) a drink, some fruit or a fruit yoghurt and sometimes but not every day a biscuit or piece of cake if there is any left over from the weekend. Ds2 hates fruit so he often only eats the sandwich!

Lonelymum - mine has about the same as yours except no nice things She still complains that I give her too much because she's always the last to finish

Yes, I get the feeling my children are only interested in getting out to play. I didn't mention that half the time the drinks are unfinished by the end of the day.

DS (almost 5) hardly eats what I give him. Am amazed at how much you guys give them. Anyway, today, in addition to school supplied biscuits & milk in mid-morn, he had

LIDL 100% vitamin-fortified fruit juice (alternate with their apple juice or other fruit juice)
1 hard-boiled egg
1 Baby Bel
Rachel's Greek yogurt small pot
a big bag of crisps (because it's Friday, other days he gets mini-cheddars, Hula-hoops or similar)

Note no sarnies... he hardly ever eats them. He's in too big a hurry to go out & play.

I suppose I am lucky that dd is a good eater who isn't fussy, I have always been a bit obsessive about her food ( I think obsessions are fine as long as you are aware of them!) and as a baby she never ate pre packaged baby foods as I thought they all tasted and felt very bland ( not to mention what was in them) so from the very beginning she has tasted real food and I am sure that is why she eats so well now.

When she was tiny everyone used to say to me I should try and market the foods I made for her but I thought who would buy little yogurt pots of puree!! If only I knew then what I know now.

Sometimes dd has the odd item left in her lunchbox but I don't mind as she can nibble on that while she waits for her tea rather than nagging me for food as we step in the house.
