Butternut squash with lamb - yes or no?

Am doing a sort of ragu (ooh get her) with leftover roast lamb and some tins of tomatoes, onions, garlic and red wine.

I have a squash - should it go in or not?
I also have courgettes and red pepper.

TIA!

Now there's a thought LL!

Thank you! I was just having trouble visualising (?) the combination of flavours.

Yes. Jamie Oliver does a lamb coucous thing with butternut sqaush - yum!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 21/08/2007 15:14

Really Cardy? Jamie is a man who knows what he's doing with a butternut squash, so that is a high recommendation!
Thanks!

I would serve it on the side. Might go too mushy in the ragu.

suzywong · 21/08/2007 15:15

hell yes, out it in
but why not cube it and roast in in the oven first for extra flavour?

always put bnsq in lamb curries

I don't have the receipe at hand but it's always one that goes down well at dinner parties. An old reliable!

Sounds lovely. I'd roast it in a pan with the pepper and courgette and have it with the meat. Then have what's left for lunch the following day with couscous! Yum!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 21/08/2007 15:52

It's cubed and will be roasted, will decide later whether to put in or serve alongside!
thanks all.

ScummyMummy · 21/08/2007 16:06

"." I meant, not ",".

Jamie does like his fennel seed, doesn't he? I get through bags of the stuff using the Naked Chef books.
