Anyone else given their 9 month old peanut butter?

My DD has just started wanting finger food rather than anything I give her on a spoon. Annabel Karmel says smooth peanut butter can be given on toast from 6 months if there is no family history of allergy. None of us have a history of nut allergy but my DH's sister has eczema. Is this enough grounds not to give DD peanut butter? I have been eating peanuts whilst bf. Not sure if that makes any difference.

I did it, but you will probably get lots of no's too.

I gave mine peanut butter at nine months. If there's no history of allergy, you shouldn't have a problem.

And it's fantastically nutritious! I also found it helped with nappy rash, strangely.

gave mine hazelnut butter.

my ds has also had peanut butter since about 8 months. He has had no problems with it (neither has my dd who first had it from around 1 year)

I gave my 14 month old smooth peanut butter on rice cakes last week. Contrary to popular belief (or so it seems!) she did not drop dead. She just pulled a face and went 'Pththththththththt' like they do and spat it out

mine all have eaten peanutbutter and loved it from quite early on. the baby just gets the smooth stuff, but the rest are now eating the crunchy stuff
