Rice pudding...how to make it like M&S?

M&S (or could be Waitrose - sorry I live abroad and can’t remember exactly), make this clotted cream rice pudding which is divine. I have tried many ways to make rice pudding (oven, slow cooker, stove top), but I always find the milk caramelises too much and the pudding becomes golden and sweeter than I like. I really like it when it’s white and more creamy like the M&S one but I’m not able to get the same result. It’s almost like the clotted cream is mixed in uncooked - would that make sense?
Hope any of you have a recipe or idea how to make it. It’s late at night and my British food cravings are peaking!

If you put the cream in towards the end to warm through, it would be fine I'm sure, although having never tried the m and s one, I have no real idea! If you were adding the cream towards the end, I would be inclined to reduce the sugar a bit and do it on the hob, as you can control the consistency more easily than in the oven. No skin though, although appreciate that may be a plus point...

Have you tried a pressure cooker? The milk doesn’t seem to caramelise in one as the cooking time is shorter.

Thank you Drinkcider and karma. I have tried pressure cooker but didn’t get the right consistency either - felt the grains disintegrated a little by the time they were done. I guess the hob is the best to avoid the caramelisation (and skin which I frankly don’t mind). I’ll try again and add the cream at the end

Surely the skin and caramelisation and the whole point of a rice pudding?
