A pudding that’s easy to transport

I have to bake and take a pudding to a dinner party next weekend. I have time to bake it during the day but want to do something that’s easy to transport in the car (no passenger to hold it!). Thank you.

A tray bake would work well. Brownies, bakewell tart, layered crumble cake, school dinner chocolate concrete. Take a few cartons of custard along. Job done.

Apple crumble, trifle, profiteroles ?

comfysocks · 03/11/2019 19:07

I would take trifle. Bill Granger's blueberry one is delicious

Pavlova - meringue on plate with whipped cream and fruit in tubs to be added at destination.

Cheesecake but dont remove it from its tray until you arrive.

Fruit pie, plum or apple and blackberry are nice and seasonal. Take tubs of custard.

Baked cheesecake. I made a gorgeous dulce de leche one a few weeks ago...very easy and everyone loved it.

Oranges sliced into liqueur syrup would travel well in a screw top jar. Take some prepared pomegranate seeds separately for decoration.

EskewedBeef · 03/11/2019 19:29

Trifle. Always trifle.

Tiramisu can easily be transported in the dish that you make and serve it in. cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r151882

Good idea to take a tray bake and don't take out of tin until get to your destination. Or something like a roulade/Swiss roll that can fill and decorate at destination. Maybe chocolate, filled with cream and raspberries with icing sugar on top?..

Thanks folks. Some great ideas.

Lemon drizzle loaf cake, cut the baking paper generously to line the tin, and fold it over the cake in the tin once cooled. Turn cake out when you get there.

Or Parkin, given the time of year!
