Breakfast with braces

DS1 is due to get fitted with braces in 10 days. He usually has granola or toast for breakfast, and doesn't like things like weetabix or porridge. Any recommendations for breakfast, especially for the painful first few days? Have been thinking along the lines of smoothies.

Omelettes or scrambled egg?
Most cereal goes soft if left in the milk long enough.
Bread products may we’ll be fine, I’d expect bread and butter possibly with crust sauce removed would be ok.

Yoghurts
Plum tomatoes
Baked beans

French toast is usually a lot softer and easier to eat than normal toast.
Pancakes
Hash browns/potato croquettes, baked beans and fried mushrooms
Experiment with different flavours, textures and consistencies of porridge until you find one he likes - either get finer oats or chunkier oats, make it more liquidy or more solid, change the milk you use and experiment with different toppings. My DS loves Nutella, banana and peanut butter (yes, all three at once!) stirred into his porridge. My Dd prefers ground almonds and raspberries and my DH likes desiccated coconut and blueberries.

I had braces, the only definite no's are gum and toffee, apples etc need to be cut up

boiled or scrambled eggs.
porridge was fine
milk toast.
toast i fine just not crusty bits.
avoid apples defff for first week as they can ping newly fitted braced brackets off.
weetabix has been fine.it feels weird at first but stick with it and dont panic or get fustrated.its amaing how the mouth adapts and moves in a totally different manner to adopt to its new shape and form.
most cereal is fine.krispies tc that the milk has softened

Sadly won't eat eggs or baked beans! Bread without crusts sounds like the answer, unless pancakes will get them out of bed without chivvying!

Thanks all.
