Is there sandwiches you can make that will still be ok lunchtime the next day with no refrigeration?

I could pick up a meal deal at the airport but we're already getting breakfast and i was wondering about saving a bit of money

Protein bars?

Well if your DS needs to eat it peanut butter is not an option. The last two flights I've been on you would've been told you can't eat them.

The Boots meal deal at the airport is the same price as in a normal shop. Get your DS something from there and make yourself something home made? That way there’s no chance of the food going off by the time you get to your destination

Please do something that doesn't stink. I can't stand people unwrapping their smelly sandwiches in confined spaces. Is it a flight of 5+ hours? If not, can you not just have big breakfasts? You don't have to eat on planes at all for short hops unless there is a medical reason? Then eat when you arrive

I don't quite understand your timelines but I'd happily eat any sandwich including cheese/ham etc that'd been out of the fridge for 12 hours in a cool place like in a handbag or whatever.

I'm really quite cross that so many people suggested peanut butter or Nutella, but at least the OP was aware of the allergy issues and won't do it. I don't have a child with nut allergies but I'm not totally selfish to be oblivious to the risk of other people on a plane.

Practice freezing sandwiches with different fillings before the journey just to try it out. Then you can decide what works for you or not.

Freezing sandwiches i think definitely worth a go. one Test cheese wrap currently in the freezer.

I don't quite understand your timelines
thats part of my problem tbh, im having trouble getting to grips with the timelines myself. I'm the fool who arranged to travel out morning the clocks change! By the time they go forward and back (or backwards then forwards) I'm having a devil of a job working out what time its going to feel like over the literal time on the ticket. I think well actually end up eating on the bus to the hotel but i wouldnt bet on it. Plus the kids school day means they breakfast early and lunch early. And cos flying a bit of a bugger for DS he may be better eating something (and taking meds).

And mainly its the first time taking the kids out the country just me. Im worrying a little overmuch. Knowing where the food is coming from definitely helps.

DD says shes taking protein bars CuddlePounce so good call there , makes her easier. Im not sure DS would see that as food.GrinGrin
