...You may NOT include any pre-made food like scotch eggs. However, pre-made pastry is available.

Also anything made with ordinary sliced bread is out.

I don't mind doing a little bit of pre prep but I am not the world's most fantastic cook in all honesty.

(Living abroad and struggling to come up with ideas. Help! :))

It does rather depend where you're living, Bertie! If you're in the south of France or Italy or some other glorious Mediterranean place where it's still quite warm and the food is wonderful, surely you just go to a deli or supermarket and buy lots of lovely stuff.

If you live somewhere in the north of Europe where it's wet and cold and the food culture is a bit different, you might have to do something a bit different. How many other countries have soft baps and cocktail sausages? I'm guessing Ireland only.

BertieBotts · 01/10/2019 16:50

:o True. I am in Germany. It's fairly wet and cold at the moment. No cocktail sausages here but I could use Bratwurstchen. And the soft rolls are just as bad as the sliced bread (weirdly sweet and crumbly, I think American style?) We can get crusty rolls but I think they'll go stale over the day in a lunch bag.

I like the potato salad, chicken skewers, cheese straws, sliced vegetables with humous, pasta salad ideas.

Will add some nice fruit and biscuity things to that and it should be nice.
