I have a lamb neck fillet which I know it
Not traditionally used as a roast dinner piece but I really fancy it tomorrow. Never cooked it before, can anyone advise
Best way to cook it for a Sunday roast? Smile

I marinate it, cut it into chunks and stick it on top of a tray of veg to all roast together in the oven. Serve with your choice of greens and gravy. Serves 2.

I'm lazy when it comes to cooking and washing up, but the results are OK.

I'd slow roast it. I think neck fillet could be a bit tough otherwise.

That's what I was worried about.

Any idea on temp and time for slow cooking? I'm not a great
Cook but trying to improve!

I did a lamb shoulder a few months ago. All recipes suggested it would take 3-4 hours. It was cooked through but tough as fuck at 4 hours at recommended lowish heat. I had guests and had to get DH to run out for a rotisserie chicken. I forgot about the lamb and eventually took it out of the oven after 9 hours. It was fork pull tender. (It was covered btw.)
I suspect neck could be even tougher than shoulder.

Good advice thank you. I put it in the oven at 9 this morning and will give it a good 5 hours plus at least.

I have just put one in the slow cooker but on high, hopefully ready to serve at 5pm.

Must add, I have never done it before, I am just hoping the meat will be well cooked and will fall off the bone by 5pm.
