Food warming on the go

I'm just starting to wean & am not sure how to go about warming plastic pots or jars of food whilst out & about.
I've heard that cafes etc are quite reluctant ref using their microwaves / providing boiling water these days & that the car travel bottle warmers are rubbish. Is it just a case of taking a thermos & a pot/cup larger than the food container everywhere? Or will my poor little boy be eating cold carrot?!?!?

let him eat cold carrot. Best hting is to not start warming up, then they don't care. I've always tended to be on the go, so didn't want to faff around with warming things up.

Have to say, getting them used to eating the food cold definitely makes things easier. Also when out and about always taking things that are vegetable/fruit based, and don't have meat in, meant I worried less if they weren't as warm as I'd have liked. TBH, I did often feed mine stuff cold when we were out and about, and it wasn't a problem.

I always used to take just a pud when out and about.

a banana (you can mash it when required or if BLW give it strips/chunks) and a yoghurt or fruit puree pot would suffice if you are out. With dd I just fed her straight from the jar.

Thanks all for the advice. Cold veg or puds it is.

I always fed DS cold stuff from jars when out and about (Hipp, Heinz or C&G organic) and, occasionally, something like home-cooked and previously frozen cauliflower cheese, which I would pack frozen and hope it had defrosted by the time he was hungry :-)

I tend to take a banana when I'm out and about. Hence my mums comment today - are you giving that baby a banana again? oops - better get some more 'on the move' ideas!
