We want to make these for dh's birthday party and I think there is a particular name for them, but neither of us can remember - any ideas what I'm talking about?

Thanks!

LazyLineLegilimens · 06/08/2007 15:36

foxinsocks · 06/08/2007 15:37

Mumpbump · 06/08/2007 15:39

Hmm - saute potatoes rings a bell. Will google search for a recipe - unless anyone can tell me how to cook them?

Found one! As I thought, you don't cook them before frying them... Thanks everyone!

"small cubes of fried potato?"! I'd say Saute. Lyonnaise are usually with onion, I think but scrummy nontheless!

becaroo · 06/08/2007 18:51

I was thinking of chucking some rosemary in. It is to serve with spit roast lamb and beef. Do you think rosemary would be okay with beef? I ask 'cos I'm veggie so have no idea!!

OP posts:
becaroo · 07/08/2007 18:57

Definately rosemary for the lamb....for the beef, I would not add anything to the potatoes but offer horseraddish sauce on the side.

Sounds LOVELY.....

littleredhen · 07/08/2007 19:10

saute

littleredhen · 07/08/2007 19:11

just cube them parboil and then saute in olive oil slowly until golden, then stick on kitchen roll

Furball · 07/08/2007 19:16
