Have been invited for breakfast at a friend's house, what do I bring?

She's making scones, so not that. Something not too laborious but a bit more interesting than just buying some croissants... Am already bringing some home made jam. Any ideas?
TIA!

brioche?

whipped cream?

Strawberries are always nice. ALWAYS!

What about some yummy coffee in a flask? Or some really good quality bacon and fresh bread? Or how about some good museli with extra berries (blue, straw, black, rasp) and some good yoghurt.

muffins

Lio · 03/08/2007 13:39

or would that make it all to cakey?

stressteddy · 03/08/2007 13:39

Bottle of champagne and some orange juice - yum

LaCerbiatta · 03/08/2007 13:45

Thanks everyone! Somehow I think champagne would look a bit odd... same for savoury stuff like cheese and salmon... Where I come from we do more sweet things for breakfast, so muffins would be great if I could bake my own... Any quick easy recipes? Thanks!

Juice

I'd go for bucks fizz (ready made and only 4% from most supermarkets if you think stressteddy's pukka suggestion wouldn't go down too well.) Otherwise would take a basket of lovely soft seasonal fruits which can either be used for breakfast or by the family later on.

invited for breakfast?? how mad is that? does she not have kids?

i cannot think of anything worse than socialising at breakfast time.

we're off to Germany next week, staying with a friend en route to our holiday home and her sister has invited us to breakfast on Sunday! They are German, was thinking of taking crumpets, hot cross buns, and teacakes as an English contribution. Any thoughts anyone (sorry for hijack tugamommy)
