What dessert will I bring?

Visiting db and sil tonight. We're staying with them for the weekend. They're cooking lasagne and I offered to bring dessert. I want something nice as they've offered to look after toddler DD and dd2 who's only a month so we can have a night off. I'll prob pick up dessert on the way and it'll be in the car for a while so anything frozen is out. Any suggestions?

Tiramisu

Baloonphobia · 14/06/2019 14:02

I know it sounds stupid but is tiramisu a 'safe' option. I wouldn't want anyone to not like it. I bloody love it though.

I hate it ..
Bring fruit, meringue ,cream and sauce.

I did want cheesecake... But you might not find one.

Banoffee?

FinnBalorsAbs · 14/06/2019 14:10

I’d go Tiramisu and pick up a pack of M&S macarons to go with coffee. They are insanely good and they currently have a summery flavoured pack of about a dozen. If anyone doesn’t like Tiramisu they get first dibs,

Sweetooth92 · 14/06/2019 14:11

I’d use the excuse they’re babysitting to bring two as I can never decide. Something chocolatey and something fruity are my go to. Maybe a nice raspberry Bakewell tart w creme fraiche and a chocolate torte?
We have lasagne tonight. I now need dessert

Baloonphobia · 14/06/2019 14:12

Two is a great idea. Never thought of this. It takes off the pressure of someone not liking something. Def 5iramisu so. Yay!

I'd go with macarons to go with coffee because they are my fav at the mo and what about some cheese, grapes and crackers?

JonnyPocketRocket · 14/06/2019 14:16

Is there a nice bakery on your route? I'd probably get nice brownies (from the bakery - supermarket brownies not as good IME but I haven't tried many) cream, plain or vanilla yogurt, and a couple punnets of fruit, including raspberries. People who want a rich dessert can have brownies and cream with a few raspberries; people who want something lighter can make a sort of fruit salad with the fruit and yogurt (or cream if they prefer).

No bake chocolate cheesecake with raspberries

What dessert will I bring?

Two (or more) is always the one for me! Then you don’t have to just go for the safe option. Enjoy! X
