Good cookery book for child

DD has asked for a cookery book for her 10th birthday.

She’s been making basic things for a while - pasta sauces, soups, spaghetti bol, bread rolls, pancakes etc.

Most children’s books cover things like pitta bread pizzas and fairy cakes and I think she needs something a bit more advanced but adult books seems have a lot of faffy ingredients or techniques.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a suitable book? Lots of images in it would be good. She doesn’t like fish and I’d like it to be more cooking then baking, although a section in desserts would be fine.

Am I asking the impossible?

How about Matilda Ramsay’s book?

I'm sure she's old enough for an adult book. I have this one and it has a picture index before the recipes: www.ebay.co.uk/p/Good-Housekeeping-Step-by-Step-Vegetarian-Cookbook-by-Good-Housekeeping-Institute-Hardback-1997/92072815?iid=382803034148

I had this as a child and it’s brilliant, different sections and step by step picture instructions ...

It also has some useful glossary type pages.

Since your DD has been cooking for a while, it sounds like she could probably cope with some adult books.....Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food book is great, beautiful simple family recipes and a picture with every one.

Jamie's five ingredients is great - yes there are some staples that he assumes you'll ace but mostly it is just five ingredients and most recipes are quick ish and easy to follow. Lots of images, a full pic per dish if I remember
