DS is getting into baking but we don't have an electric mixer, should I look at getting one? If so, what mixers can you recommend?

It is certainly worth getting one, without a doubt. We have a Kenwood Chef Premier which is very good, but it is a Stand Mixer. not cheap and quite bulky. As it is early stages, by the sound of it, get an electric hand mixer which you could get at Curry's for something between £10-£20.

Thanks 4merly, that's a good idea to get a cheaper hand held one for now. Can always invest in a more fancy one in due course if he carries on enjoying his baking!

I’ve got one like this and love it

www.johnlewis.com/kenwood-hm680-chefette-metal-bowl-hand-mixer/p675070?sku=232374365&s_kwcid=2dx92700024307777878&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=CjwKEAjwlujnBRDl2teOp_veulQSJAC5bHgtBec2Flcx2CaMReX8ew3Kefub0xR6cFiKEcBIx2ua3RoCbQ_w_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

It’s half way between the really expensive stand mixers and a hand miser. You can take the mixer off the stand also.
