My husband wants to try it as he feels ill after a glass of wine and we are wondering if it is the sulphites
Don't want to spend loads
Do ocado do it? It's not searchable on the app

All wine contains naturally-occurring sulphites. EU regulations require wine to say "contains sulphites" if they are present in higher concentration than 10 parts per million. It's an arbitrary figure, but as a rough rule of thumb anything with the warning will probably have had them added during vinification. Buying something certified organic won't help, as added sulphites are permitted within the EU (and US) definitions of organic wine.

You may find a bottle without the "contains sulphites" warning in a supermarket, but you'd have to rummage around and look at every single bottle. A better bet would be to buy online from a specialist - a quick google search reveals several in the UK. However, this may be incompatible with not wanting to spend loads: they seem to start north of £10 even for entry level bottles.

That said, in my experience - which is backed up by the statistics - very, very few people are actually intolerant to sulphites. Sulphites are contained in far, far higher concentrations in dried fruits so if your husband can handle a handful of raisins or a mince pie then it is probably not the sulphites making him ill.

White wine actually contains more sulphite than red. If your DH actually finds it worse after red I'd venture that it's probably the tannins that's the problem, as it is with most people who feel ill after wine.
