Can child eat too much for breakfast?

My 4 year old sometimes asks for double portions of breakfast.

My wife and I are split on whether to give it to him.

It is a healthy cereal.

My child has one adult portion of cereal before asking for another.

When my wife has given him a second he does eat it.

I'm of the opinion that one adult portion should be enough for him. Anything else is greed and to be honest I'm not sure if it is healthy for him to have so much.

My son eats a light breakfast more for lunch and a good sized evening meal
My daughter feasts for breakfast and reduces her food intake as the day goes on.
Both are active and healthy
Children set their eating patterns we just have to make sure their food is healthy and balanced to the best of our abilities and their palates

Cereal isn't healthy. Or filling. And with added sugar it's no wonder he is asking for more,. Its just a sugar feast x2. Protein and fat would keep him more satiated and for much longer without the energy crashhes sure to he getting on that much glucose in one hit.

My children always had two breakfasts. Cereal first then they'd have something like toast or scrambled eggs so two bowls of cereal to me is absolutely normal.

I don't give seconds of cereal (although mostly they have porridge anyway)
I would offer something like sausages, sausage rolls, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, cheese, baked beans for Protein/fat and something like toast or fruit for carbs/energy.
My kids have 2 rounds of breakfast most mornings, be that cereal and toast, a cereal bar and a yoghurt or a sausage sandwich and a banana. If I do a cooked breakfast of some kind or even a full fry up they still usually expect a piece of fruit or something afterwards!
I would not limit breakfast. I would rather they filled their boots at the breakfast table than snacked all day (yes, even on veg or fruit).

Why do people still think cereal is healthy. I have no idea but DH regularly troughs huge bowlfuls and is becoming more obese by the week. He's convinced cereal is healthy.

I cook scrambled eggs in the microwave only takes 2 mins
