The description talked about 'textured milk'. Is that milk that's gone off?

its just a white coffee. i.e. not a latte or cappucini.

oranges · 08/07/2007 19:13

cappucino, even

NotQuiteCockney · 08/07/2007 19:15

How is the milk textured?

i think its that milk you get when you whisk it a long time. not quite frothy but thick.

It's the opposite to a long black. So flat white is without the froth and with milk added - milky coffee and a long black is an espresso made loooonnnnger by adding more water and no milk.

ZacharyQuack · 09/07/2007 06:56

In NZ, it's similar to a latte but without the froth and in a smaller cup so less milk therefore stronger coffee. Yum.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/07/2007 06:57

Ah, actual antipodeans! So the milk isn't 'textured', or at least not normally. It's a strong white coffee.

technically, one third coffee (expresso shot), one third hot water, one third milk - hot or cold...

or, an americano with milk here!

ZacharyQuack · 10/07/2007 04:12

Here it's just espresso and milk, no added hot water (or at least they don't add it in an obvious manner), and the milk tends to come out of the same jugfull that is used for lattes etc, but they use a spoon to keep the frothy stuff in the jug. Maybe I just go to lazy cafes....

MrsJohnClaireCusack · 10/07/2007 05:04

ah
that'll be why DH said the milk was still a bit frothy then
