What's quick and easy.

So far I've come up with spag bol and pizza.

What else is quick and easy to cook on holiday in a caravan? Inspiration please.

Go to the chip shop - you're on holiday!! Failing that corned beef hash!

keiralou · 05/07/2007 13:14

Why not take some stuff like already mentioned, already made and stick in the fridge / freezer to just heat through...

BettySpaghetti · 05/07/2007 13:16

My quick and easy standby I always recommend is Pasta with Creme Fraiche, butterbeans and pesto. Uses 2 pans/rings. Ready in 10/15mins.

While the pasta is cooking, heat through the creme fraiche with the butterbeans (or beans of your choice), stir in some pesto (and Boursin with garlic and herbs if you like)salt and pepper.

Mix together when cooked and add grated parmesan and pine nuts on the top if you like them.

Does it have an oven?

morningpaper · 05/07/2007 13:19

Looks fine to me.

Juice for the children?

What will you do re lunches?

MrsBadger · 05/07/2007 15:46

when we were on the narrowboat we had kebabs, fajitas, soup, pasta and ate out a lot

4 bottles of wine will not be enough

ChippyMinton · 05/07/2007 16:37

Add tinfoil onto you shopping list for lining trays etc + less washing up.
Is it a mobile home? We've had some truly awful ovens in the past, so i wouldn't rely on it being hot enough for much, and grills are often v.small.

DH usually cooks & freezes a couple of things to take frozen, chilli or spag bol, shepherds pie (if there's a microwave in case the oven is cr*p), then stuff to do on the hob like chicken fajitas.

LOL at cereal variety pack, that's our treat too (special k, anyone?)

Cocoa pops are the holiday treat here! (mini pack only of course!)

Here's a quick recipe my mate gave me, it's quick and easy

1 tbsp oil
1 teaspn garlic, or 2 cloves crushed
1 finely chopped onion
6 rashers bacon, chopped
1 teaspn each of chilli powder, worst sauce and oregano
1 tbspn tom puree
1/3 pt veg stock
pasta

Heat oil, fry onion and bacon with the garlic puree. Add all the remaining ingrediants and bring to the boil. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook pasta according to instructions, drain it and mix the two together. Serve immediately.
