protein and early waking question??

ds, 7 months is waking earlier and earlier, not crying,but when given the bottle, will drink 6oz very quickly. I'm sure he's waking up hungry, but seems satisfied with the milk and solids he's having during the day. His food so far,is:
6-7oz milk 6.30/7 ish
2 teaspoons baby rice +one cube fruit 8ish
7oz milk 11ish, then 5 cubes sweet pot + veg(this week started adding one cube of chicken casserole to replace one veg)
6oz milk 3pmish
7oz milk 6pmish, then 5 teaspoons baby rice + 2 cubes fruit.
This morning he was awake at 5.30am, left him for a while but was obviously not going back to sleep, gave bottle at 6am, which he seemed very hungry for.
Am letting him have milk volumes and amount of solids, till he's had enough, but the waking hungry is getting earlier and earlier. Has anyone found that introducing more protein will result in a better sleep? He has no more than 3 hours total sleep in day, and doesn't go to bed overtired as he still has a short doze at about 5pm. Any idea??

Oh another thing. Anything like sweetcorn will guarantee an early dirty nappy. I like to offer something heavy-ish for supper like pasta, fishcakes, home made chicken/beef burgers, shepherds pie, etc and avoid giving loads of veg, especially sweetcorn whether it's the baby or normal variety. Tomatoes tend to whizz through too.
And I would just like to say, this is what I have learnt from my experience with my children only and not on what I have read or been recommended.

So am I right in thinking that it's the cumulative quantity of fruit during a normal day rather than the timing of it? i do hope so as ds had some banana poridge and apple for dinner tonight!

Yes exactly! One more load at the end of the day is just too much, I find.
Would like to know if Alibo has cut down on the milk...

thanks for recent replies chicpea and tracyk. Have had a lot of hit and miss days recently with ds's appetite in general, due to teething mainly and disturbed sleep, naps etc. But, I have been giving him his lunchtime solids first for last few weeks and offering him milk afterwards, as he still will only accept 2-3 cubes of chicken casserole mixed with potatoe/veg. So am working on upping the protein, ie chicken and cutting milk out completely at lunchtime. In fact yesterday, he took a bit of baby danone yoghurt after lunch and didn't want any milk afterwards., so will see what happens today. Not sure what to do about fruit in the evening; as sometimes he wakes with a dirty nappy, sometimes not. He will only take a small amount of solids, ie veg/sweet potatoe at 5pm, but will still have some baby rice and pear after his 7pm bottle. Find if I get him to have more solids at teatime, it puts him off his bottle a bedtime.
Hoping the yoghurts aren't going to bung him up, he didn't poo at all yesterday, and none this morning. Already have a thread on this!! What do you think?

When my DD was taking three proper meals a day, she lost interest in her bottle before bed at 7pm and her supper would be at 5pm. If you are worried about him being constipated from too much yog, how much are you giving him? I don't give yog/from frais in the morning for breakfast, just in the evening after supper. I do the fruit for breakfast and lunch pudding so they are not constipated. Currently potty training my 2yo so she is less regular at the moment due to not feeling comfortable with pooing outside the nappy.
My feeling about milk and children/babies losing interest is that the aim is to get them on to good nutritious food and while the milk provides a high dose of iron, if a baby/child is not interested, I don't force it. All of my childrens' food is home made (except frankfurters and gluten free sausages) and I feel confident that they are getting optimum nutrition.
